As a leading contributor to the Bluetooth SIG organization and the first company to build a fully qualified Bluetooth mesh stack, Silvair provides a wide range of products including lighting firmware and platform designed for commissioning and maintenance of luminaire networks. Products made by Sylvania such as SylSmart and SLIC are now becoming part of an open ecosystem driven by the Bluetooth mesh technology. This will not only bring many benefits to their users such as a faster payback (up to three years in commercial spaces), energy efficiency and adaptability but also will set a foundation for IoT services operating via lighting infrastructures. The partnership is a beginning of a long-term relationship between Sylvania and Silvair in the field of smart lighting control systems.

“We are about to witness very exciting times proving that wireless control systems will revolutionize the lighting industry. I cannot wait for the demonstration of Sylvania’s products using Silvair’s lighting control solution at Light + Building 2018. By becoming part of an interoperable ecosystem, these products will enable lighting systems to use an open standard technology that is robust, reliable, secure and user-friendly. This partnership is truly an amazing opportunity supporting the global adoption of Bluetooth mesh for connected lighting,” says Rafal Han, CEO and co-founder of Silvair.

“SylSmart solutions, and our Smart Lighting Innovation Centre (SLIC) are founded on open, interoperable standards that we believe are needed for IoT to thrive. We are very excited about the release of the Bluetooth mesh standard, and in particular Silvair's lighting control firmware. We look forward to demonstrating one of the world’s first Bluetooth mesh certified lighting controls systems at Light and Build 2018 and in particular how lighting can co-operate openly with other room elements such as HVAC. We will continue our collaboration, fostering and pushing the adoption of this much needed standard with Silvair as the industry pioneers, says Edward Lees, Global Senior Product Line Manager – Smart Lighting and Controls, Sylvania.
