Aledia Chooses Veeco’s Propel GaN MOCVD System for Large Wafer 3D LED Production

The semiconductor process equipment manufacturer, Veeco, released the information of Aledia’s selection on its product, Propel® GaN MOCVD system for Aledia’s further research and development on 3D LED application.

Aledia is a French developer of 3D LED display based on its gallium-nitride-nanowires-on-silicon platform. The company expects to extend their research of 3D nanowire LEDs with Veeco’s equipment featuring single-wafer reactor technology and large process window. Giorgio Anania, the CEO of Aledia said, “Veeco’s cutting-edge Propel system delivers unsurpassed results, and very good homogeneity throughout the entire wafer, making it the best choice and one we know will help us continue to push the limits of innovation.”

Veeco reacted optimistically about its partnership with Aledia as the company considers 3D LED display as one of the next generation technology in LED industry. Earlier in May, Lumentum, the U.S. based manufacturer of semiconductor photonics devices also reported its order of Veeco’s MOCVD system for the production of its semiconductor components for the end-markets of 3D sensing and other applications.
