GPM to Prepare Micro LED Equipment

Taiwanese semiconductor equipment supplier Gallant Precision Machining (GPM) reported that the company has prepared for equipment to produce Micro LED, including facilities of LED picking, washing, mass transferring and testing. The facilities are now at the experimental phase.

GPM has been pushing its production of intelligent equipment and expects to raise their total revenue share to 40 percent. Intelligent equipment is used to install sensors on each manufacturing facilities for collecting data and giving feedbacks to the system for autonomous adjustments which will improve the manufacturing process. Currently, 50 percent of GPM’s productions are LCD equipment. Intelligent equipment accounts for 30 percent and the remaining 20 percent is equipment for IC and semiconductor.

GPM has received orders from several panel manufacturers in China including BOE and CSOT. The revenue of the company for 2Q18 was NT$ 1.26 billion (US$41.2 million), with a decrease of 3.6% QoQ and an increase of 11% YoY; for the first half of 2018, the revenue was NT$ 2.58 billion (US$ 84.38 million).

As an equipment producer, GPM hopes to be a driving force for innovative technologies and has been showing progress with its Micro LED equipment.
