Dr. Hiroshi Amano, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2014, will deliver a lecture on October 3rd at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. The topic of the lecture is “The History of the Development of Blue & UV-LEDs and Their Future Prospects.”
Amano was awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics together with Isamu Akasaki and Shuji Nakamura for their achievement in blue LEDs, “The invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled bright and energy saving white light sources.” Amano is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University.
Amano specializes in the field of semiconductor technologies including LED, high power transistor, crystal growth, semiconductor physics and other technologies. He was invited by Academia Sinica, Nikkiso and Taikkiso to share his insights about the technology and development of blue and UV LEDs.
