Arm Introduces Smart Building Technology via Space Analytics with Lighting Solution

Lighting companies like Osram and Signify have extended their lighting solutions to smart applications in office and building. And now semiconductor company Arm is joining the market. UK-based semiconductor and software supplier Arm launched Space Analytics as part of the Arm Pelion Smart Spaces solutions for property managers to optimize space usages.

Based on Arm’s Pelion IoT platform, Space Analytics securely gathers and analyzes data from off-the-shelf IoT devices (such as smart lighting, sensors, locks, IP cameras, badge readers) to deliver actionable insights and predict availability of space. Through the solution’s machine learning capabilities, Arm will provide actionable data insights on space and resource usage, all of which work toward driving greater efficiencies and maximizing revenue.

According to Arm, its Space Analytics helps property managers of co-working spaces, commercial offices and hotels to see when, where and how building spaces are being utilized. The system can also pair with Arm’s Indoor Lighting solution to tailor room lighting based on users’ preferences. The Indoor Lighting offering also enables rapid deployment, remote management and security of intelligent lighting controls that reduce maintenance costs and provide energy savings.

The solutions provide benefits for the rising co-working spaces. With growing self-employees and startups looking for flexible working areas, Europe is forecast to have 255 million square feet of commercial property dedicated to co-working spaces in 2019. Arm has provided Space Analytics to Ireland’s Dogpatch Labs for its Dublin Docklands startup hub. The company is implementing the solution to improve dynamic management of spaces throughout its facilities. This will help Dogpatch Labs optimize the space and enhance usability for its community of around 400 entrepreneurs.
