Blickfeld Introduces New MEMS-based LiDAR; LeddarTech Partners Acal BFi for Market Expansion in Europe

LiDAR technology builders are proactively increasing their influence in the market by launching more advanced products as well as expanding global business. Germany-based solid-state LiDAR technology provider Blickfeld added a new product to its portfolio while Canadian LiDAR maker, LeddarTech, announced partnership with Acal BFi for extending its business to Europe.

Blickfeld is launching a MEMS-based LiDAR sensor for extended detection of objects at a distance of up to 250 meters. In combination with the Blickfeld Cube, Blickfeld now offers a full LiDAR suite for autonomous vehicles. The Cube Range sensor was designed as a robust and powerful 3D solid-state LiDAR for the mass market.

Blickfeld’s technology is based on its proprietary silicon MEMS mirror embedded in a coaxial structure that is based on commercial standard components. It has a range of 150 meters with 10 percent reflection; a range of up to 250 meters is easily achievable with higher reflection. In addition, the Cube Range exhibits an impressive resolution of 0.18°.

LeddarTech from Quebec, Canada, who provides mobility LiDAR platform in the market, announced that it has signed a Pan-European representation agreement with Acal BFi. Under the agreement, Acal BFi becomes LeddarTech’s newest partner in the delivery of mobility and speciality sensor modules, including the newly released Leddar Pixell 3D Solid-state LiDAR Detection Cocoon Solution for Autonomous Shuttles, Commercial Vehicles, and Robotaxis.

Acal BFi will act as a bespoke provider of LeddarTech’s innovative LiDAR solutions in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
