Letv to Release Mini LED Backlight TV with Price Announced

Letv is returning to the market with more than 60 smart products after two years, including smart TVs, gaming displays, children watch phones, Bluetooth earphones, and portable batteries, as well as smart locks and kitchen & bathroom products. Wu Guoping, Senior Director of Letv and Lerong Brand Marketing, disclosed that Letv smartphones will also be making an official return.

The M65 and GS series made their debut at the product launch this time, of which M65 is adopted with Mini LED backlight, as well as 9,216 light emitting diodes, and 576 dimming zones, with a brightness of 1000nits and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.
Apart from Mini LED backlight, M65 is also adopted with QLED that covers 95% of DCI-P3 and 106% NTSC gamut, which achieves high color reproduction and lifelike display effects.

In terms of the design, M65 is 17.8mm in thickness, and is configured with an elevated 400W camera, with 1080P output supported. M65 is also supportive of MEMC, HDR 10, Letv far-field voice 2.0, and 100+ scenarios.

Consumers would be delighted to know that M65 will be priced at RMB 6,999, and is set for a release in the second half of 2021. This Mini LED TV of Letv is rather affordable compared to most brands in the current market, and whether the product will be recognized by the consumers, as well as the performance in subsequent sales volume, are both worthy of observation.

For the Mini LED industry, the entry of Letv indicates a further enlargement in the array of Mini LED backlight TVs, which is bound to stimulate the demand of the supply chain to a certain extent, and help to accelerate the maturity of the Mini LED technology, as well as further lower the relevant cost.

According to the analysis of LEDinside, the market value of Mini LED chips in backlight TV applications is expected to arrive at US$270 million in 2021 under gradually resolved bottlenecks and reduced cost.

The statistics of LEDinside show that brands that have now announced Mini LED TVs include TCL, Samsung, LG, Xiaomi, Konka, Skyworth, Changhong, Hisense, Philips, and Letv. With an increasingly availability of end products, the competition among various suppliers is only going to aggravate from here on out.
