Visionox Establishes Pilot Scale Micro LED Production and All Related Processes

On October 20, Visionox revealed its progress of Micro LED and AMOLED development to investors during a market research gathering.

Expecting the Micro LED market to thrive in the future, Visionox has actively developed related technologies; meanwhile, Chengdu Vistar Optoelectronics, a company co-established by Visionox through equity investment, built a pilot scale Micro LED production line, thereby accomplishing the development of all related processes.

Visionox also confirmed that its Micro LED strategies are likely to diversify the company’s product mix. In late July this year, the LED business announced the tape-out of a 1.84″ Micro LED wearable sample featuring a pixel density of 326 PPI, enabling it to accelerate strategic development in the advanced display market.

Additionally, Visionox endeavors to expand its business to the mid- and small-size AMOLED sector. This year, the company kicked off its 5.5-gen production line in Kunshan and 6-gen flexible production line in Gu'an, leading to rocketed product shipments. The 6-gen flexible production base in Hefei and another production base for flexible modules in Zengcheng District (Guangzhou)—which Visionox has invested in—have achieved mass production and delivered products to leading customers, boosting the company’s production capacity.

Concerning technological innovation, Visionox developed next-gen under display camera solutions and the world’s first 165Hz AMOLED solution, of which the products have been mass produced and shipped to customers. By adopting local raw materials and reducing technological costs, the Chinese LED maker successfully improved production line management with greater efficiency and lower costs.

Visionox currently focuses on developing AMOLED display products for smartphone and smart wearable manufacturers including HONOR, Xiaomi, ZTE, Nubia, Lenovo, Motorola, OPPO, Huami and Fitbit. Based on its existing production bases and realized production capacity, the company is determined to seek out more leading customers. (Compiled by LEDinside)
