HP OMEN Transcend 16 gaming laptops with mini-LED screen, 13th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU announced

These laptops are among the lightest and slimmest 16-inch gaming laptops, and a mini-LED screen version is also offered. HP has unveiled the OMEN Transcend 16 gaming laptops. These laptops are among the lightest and slimmest 16-inch gaming laptops, and a mini-LED screen version is also offered. The variants pack an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor, which has 24 cores, 32 threads, and a 5.4GHz clock speed. A later date will see the introduction of Intel Core i7 processor options.
The HP OMEN Transcend 16's mini-LED screen variant offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and a maximum brightness of 1,180-nits. It features a 240Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. The other screen choice has an IPS panel and delivers a 240Hz refresh rate and 1,600p resolution. The full-HD+ model with a refresh rate of 165Hz offers the smallest screen size.

The OMEN Transcend 16 thin gaming laptops can hold up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD and up to 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. In order to complement its slim architecture, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 mobile GPU with 130W TGP is incorporated. The RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 are other graphics options; both are less expensive than the RTX 4070.

The HP OMEN Transcend 16 has two Thunderbolt 4 connectors, one USB-A 3.2 for data connection, and one USB-A 3.2 for charging the device as connectivity options. The laptop also has a combo audio jack and an HDMI 2.1 video out connector. Wireless connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth v5.3. At the back of the laptop, there may be additional ports. The HP OMEN Transcend 16 comes in Ceramic White and Shadow Black colour variants and weighs roughly 2.1 kg. The laptop is available with 97Wh and 70Wh battery units.

The newly announced HP OMEN Transcend 16 gaming laptops are expected to go on sale in April 2023. The entry-level ultra-thin gaming laptop costs $1,700 (roughly Rs 1,39,600). There are rumours that AMD processor variants may be included later for the OMEN Transcend 16. There is currently no information available on the models' global availability.
