ASUSRepublic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the 2024 Strix family of laptops, including the Strix SCAR 18, the first 18-inch ROG laptop equipped with the mini–LED ROG Nebula HDR Display. As the vanguard of gaming laptops, all 2024 Strix machines feature the latest flagship Intel® Core™ i9 processor 14900HX, with the Strix SCAR 18 sporting up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 Laptop GPU with 175 W max TGP. Paired with a complete suite of the latest intelligent cooling improvements, including Tri-Fan technology and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU, the 2024 Strix family of laptops has arrived to dominate the competition.

Brilliant detail
This year marks the introduction of the first ROG 18-inch display powered by Mini LED technology. HDR content and games have arrived on the big screen with the arrival of the 2024 Strix SCAR 18, with its Nebula HDR Display boasts over 2000 discrete dimming zones and 1100 nits of peak brightness. On an 18-inch panel, this dimming zone density, coupled with the ROG Nebula HDR Engine, minimizes blooming and haloing even in challenging scenes, giving the Strix SCAR 18 incredibly vivid HDR performance. While the ROG Nebula HDR panels exclusive to the Strix SCAR line are truly spectacular; all the displays in the 2024 Strix family are visually stunning.

Each model features a 2.5K panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and under 3 ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, giving gamers exceptional visual experiences. For further immersion, these panels have an extra-tall 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Dolby Vision® support ensures that the color content on the screen will look exactly as the creator intended, and Dolby Atmos support further increases immersion with expansive and realistic soundstages. Cooler than cool
ROG Strix laptops stand at the cutting edge of cooling technologies to maintain peak gaming performance. For the 2024 Strix SCAR and Strix G machines, this includes Tri-Fan technology, a system that utilizes a third auxiliary fan that increases airflow to surface-mounted components on the motherboard while also helping route excess heat from the GPU towards the heatsinks. While all ROG laptops have liquid metal as the thermal interface between the CPU and their heatsinks, the entire 2024 Strix lineup features ultra-high performance Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal, which drastically reduces temperatures compared to traditional thermal pastes.
