Rudimental and Groove Armada performed in front of a 60 x 6 metre video wall comprised of 360 ROE Visual Vanish V8T panels at the Australian Open tennis tournament’s Finals Festival.
After selling out in 2023, the Australian Open tennis tournament’s Finals Festival was this year moved to a bigger venue in Melbourne Park.
Event hire and production specialist Novatech decided to capitalise on the switch by creating a vast curved LED wall as a backdrop for internationally acclaimed acts such as Rudimental and Groove Armada.
The Adelaide-based company deployed 360 ROE Visual Vanish V8T panels to create an immersive wall that was 60 metres wide and 6 metres high.
Novatech's sales and marketing director, Ashley Gabriel, says: “The stage location was in a tennis stadium that also features a velodrome covered by retractable seating banks.
"Considering the limited rigging capacity, a light weight was the first factor we had to consider."
Gabriel says the limited load capacity afforded by the venue's seating bank meant that the V8T was the most suitable option, as it weighs only 18kg/sq metre.
"Each tile being 1m by 1m meant the build time was shortened, which was a major consideration given the quick turnaround between the tennis matches and the first day of Finals Festival," he adds.
ROE Visual's sales director, Grace Kuo, says: “The Vanish outdoor panels offer superior brightness and contrast, contributing to the overall visual experience. It was great to see how the event production teams expertly crafted the stage design, optimally using the curving options of the LED panel."
Novatech managing director Leko Novakovic says: "We stock a variety of ROE Visual panels, which allows us to choose the right display depending on the event and requirements."
