The New Branch of Unilumin – Next Level!
Welcome to Visit Unilumin’s New Office and Showroom in Germany

Early in September 2018, Unilumin Group Co., Ltd founded a European subsidiary (Unilumin Germany GmbH) in Filderstadt. During the years, with a steady increase in turnover, the German subsidiary achieved an annual increase rate in sales of more than 30% and realized more than 500 projects and the associated increase in staff, the office space becoming cramped. In the spring they moved to larger and more beautiful premises in Nürtingen near Stuttgart: Robert-Bosch-Straße 4.

The new location of Unilumin Germany has space for 20-person employees and for a 600 m² showroom. In addition, the Service & Repair Center is located there, where LED modules and circuit boards can be repaired quickly and easily. The 200 m² warehouse and the additional rented storage space of 500 m² make it possible to carry out "on-site demos" for customers and to achieve shorter delivery times thanks to constantly available stock. In the meantime, the sales team has established a nationwide network of dealers and system integrators in the DACH region and can report on many interesting LED display installations.

The New Showroom
The prestigious and state-of-the-art showroom was set up to allow interested parties, planners, architects, as well as dealers, and system integrators to experience the products live. "After the opening of the Corona lockdown, the retailers immediately took advantage of our new presentation options, even though office furniture had not even been delivered yet, but the display technology was of course already working perfectly," laughs Christoph Pfäffle, General Sales Manager and Director for the DACH countries, and continues enthusiastically: "We are also particularly proud of the overall solutions that we can present to our visitors here in the showroom. For example, the integration of content management software from Three10, which we use in conjunction with our high-resolution LED walls, the Shure microphone system, and the Fohhn loudspeakers to create breathtaking customer experiences." The ThreeX software allows you to manage and distribute any high-resolution content such as images, movies, PDFs, web pages, video sources, real-time renderings, or streams. The showroom also features the latest generation of Shure ceiling microphone arrays. The MXA 920 Automatic Coverage Microphone Ceiling Panels wirelessly capture and track speakers in the room.

Unilumin presents the Unano Rental Modules, the winner of the Red Dot Award in 2019. It is equipped with special edge protection with auto-calibration. The modules have been designed for quick and safe assembly and disassembly. Above the kitchen, a pivot arrangement of UHWII panels with 2.5 mm pixel pitch is installed.

"The aim of the concept of the showroom was not only to show LED modules, but also to demonstrate real applications to visitors, such as those currently installed in conference rooms," explains Matthias Schmidt, Technical Director of Unilumin.

Other well-known partners from the media technology industry were brought on board to help equip the showroom. In the conference area, the visually appealing W9 media furniture from Holzmedia GmbH, in which a 110" Unilumin wall, UpanelⅡ with 1.2 mm pixel pitch, is integrated. For the perfect sound, Fohhn Scale 2 speakers were installed. Scale-2 from Fohhn's Media series is a compact, passive and universally usable loudspeaker system. Besides, there are Cynap from Wolfvision, a wireless BYOD presentation system, and Crestron, the unified communication solutions presented. Elegantly integrated by the height-adjustable wooden media furniture S1, Unilumin presents Micro-LED technology in an 83" monitor with a contrast ratio of 30,000:1. Creative applications with LED walls, such as in installations for retail, art projects, or company foyers, which are often installed over corners or curved, are showcased in examples with the UslimII series.

The eye-catcher, however, is likely to be the UMini Wall in 32:9 format and 4.88 × 1.37 m. With a total resolution of 3,840 × 1,080 pixels (1.2 mm PP), it conjures up sensational images in the room. Coated with EBL technology, the stray light from the outside is completely absorbed and a better black level is achieved, which explains the contrast ratio of 20,000:1. Other features such as HDR, DCI-P3 color spectrum, peak brightness of 2,000 cd/m², 180° viewing angle, ultra-energy management, dynamic energy saving, COB technology, IP54 certification, wireless installation between modules, and front & rear maintenance show what is currently possible in the top level of LED display technology.

The new elegant showroom of Unilumin with exhibition space and various meeting zones. A curved UHF LED wall was installed in the reception desk. Furthermore, visitors can experience various LED displays in different resolutions, such as Unano 1.8 mm, UpadIV 2.6 mm PP, UpanelⅡ 1.5 mm PP, UpanelSII PRO 1.2 mm PP, or UpanelS 1.9 mm PP.

LED displays are currently very popular for conference and presentation rooms as an "all-in-one solution". Providing three models in the showroom for customers to experience, the 110" UpanelSII Pro as a 4×4 configuration with a 1.2 mm pixel pitch impresses with the reproduction of high-speed recordings thanks to the 240Hz technology. The panels are equipped with "Flip Chip" and "Common Cathode" LEDs, which allows for a higher packing density with a 50 percent energy saving compared to other technology. Due to the 5G bandwidth, only a CAT cable is required to connect to the LED controller.

UMini Wall, consisting of 8 × 4 modules with 1.2 mm pixel pitch, representing a resolution of 3,840 × 1,080 pixels, is suitable for "high-end applications". The COB (chip on board) enables a higher packing density and thus a higher luminous efficacy per square centimeter.

The UHPIII display with its 138" and 1.5 mm PP nestles against the wall like a picture with a depth of only 39.5 mm.

Of course, the most frequently installed product, the UpanelⅡ series, cannot be missing in the showroom. The 3.7 × 2 m (168") high-resolution (1.9 mm PP) LED wall, which is IP60 certified and equipped with magnetic front maintenance, has already been integrated into conference or exhibition rooms at many well-known companies in the DACH region.

UpadIV is the latest flagship product in the rental sector. The 4.5 × 2.5 m LED wall on display in the showroom, which can be fast assembled from magnesium cabinets weighing only 6.0 kg, is equipped with 2.6 mm PP panels and a real 16-bit color resolution of the LED. If you need a higher resolution, you will find the Rental-Unano 1.X LED series with 1.3 mm and 1.8 mm pixel pitch right next to it.

Rental-Wall-Upad IV with 2.6 mm PP in a 9 × 5 configuration with a size of 4.5 × 2.5 m. The module weighs only 6.3 kg, making it 30% lighter than the average panels and it also promises easy handling thanks to its die-casting magnesium design.

Of course, all Unilumin products are manufactured in accordance with current national and international quality standards and ISO 9001:2000. They have certificates such as CE, FCC, ETL, GOST, CCC, UL, GS, CUL, RoHS, EMC, TÜV and are also subjected to ageing, vibration, IP, voltage, salt water, temperature and fire tests, as well as EMC measurements in their own laboratories. Sixty special laboratories with state-of-the-art measuring instruments, mostly made in Germany, were specially set up for this purpose. Of course, the LED modules are calibrated for color uniformity and brightness before delivery.

The LED staircase displays modules from Uslim-O 4.8 mm, ULS 2.9 mm, and Upanel-S 0.7 mm series.

View

Of course, the general trend in LED displays towards smaller pixel pitches can also be seen in Unilumin. If you weren't at ISE 2022 in Barcelona, you can now check out the prototype of a 0.5 mm pixel pitch micro panel in Nürtingen. The UMicro series, based on the chassis of the UMini series, will probably be ready for mass production next year.

Result
The last few months have shown that the need for physical encounters with a company and its products cannot be replaced by digital meetings and will remain immensely important for companies and customers in the future. The new showroom is a statement both internally and externally. It conveys a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere due to the chic, modern furniture. Here, not only individual LED modules are presented, but thanks to the integration of the latest products from well-known media technology manufacturers, future-oriented complete solutions are presented, which are used not only for customer events, but also for internal company communication.
