BROOKINGS, S.D. – May 24, 2024 – Catering to Bulldogs football fans, Louisiana Tech University has partnered with Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, for a new audiovisual experience at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, Louisiana. A custom audio system along with a 3,240-square-foot end zone video display will be installed before the 2024 season kicks off.

“We are excited to partner with Daktronics to bring one of the largest end zone video displays in the state to Louisiana Tech,” said Louisiana Tech Vice President and Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey. “The addition is a significant upgrade to our stadium and will improve the game-day experience for our fans, players and alums. We are excited to showcase our new video display ahead of the 2024 season.”

Video Display Details

The video display will measure 36 feet high by 90 feet wide and feature a 10-millimeter pixel spacing to deliver excellent image clarity and contrast to fans throughout the stadium. It incorporates industry-leading environmental protection to ensure it operates as expected in the Louisiana outdoor elements.

Consistent with industry expectations, the display is capable of variable content zoning. This allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.

Audio System Details

Integrated into the video display system will be a custom Daktronics audio system. This point-source system will deliver full-range sound reproduction and deliver clear, intelligible speech so fans can understand announcements and keep up with all the calls of the game. It will deliver a powerful and complete audio experience with booming bass and high-quality treble.

“Working to bring a new huge video board – one of the biggest end zone displays in the state of Louisiana – and integrate it with a state-of-the-art audio system is something that will immediately elevate the game-day experience at Louisiana Tech,” said Brandon DeSmet, Daktronics sales representative. “It was great to work with the university and their great team of individuals on this project from the early stages through to completion.”

Daktronics is also including a complete Show Control solution. This industry-leading control system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a powerful yet user-friendly production solution.
