ASUS has revealed a host of new monitors in its latest Computex announcements, including a Google TV model and the “world’s first” 8K mini-LED pro monitor.

The 4K-capable ZenScreen Smart MS27UC (shown above) is ASUS’ first Google TV display and the company’s effective answer to Samsung’s Smart Monitor M8. You can watch streaming services and use other big-screen apps even when there’s no PC. The 5W Harman/Kardon speakers aren’t powerful, but you’ll get 90W USB-C charging for your laptop as well as HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and multiple regular USB ports.

The ProArt Display 8K PA32KCX (pictured at middle), meanwhile, is built for professionals that insist on both high resolution and color accuracy. The 32-inch 8K mini-LED display has a Delta E (color difference) value of less than one, 97% DCI-P3 coverage, and a built-in colorimeter to ensure a true picture. It also manages a 1,000-nit sustained brightness (1,200 nits peak) to help with HDR, and mini-LED helps deliver better contrast.

It also comes with an anti-glare, low-reflection coating and two Thunderbolt 4 ports that provide up to 96W for charging. You can also expect HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and a USB hub.

Other ASUS monitor models have their own clear audiences. The 27-inch ProArt Display 5K PA27JCV amounts to an Apple Studio Display alternative for those who don’t need a webcam or speakers. It includes the same anti-glare tech as its 8K counterpart and manages 99% DCI-P3 coverage with 100% sRGB, albeit at a Delta E under 2. You’ll get 96W charging through a USB-C port as well as HDMI and regular USB connections.

Travelers, meanwhile, can get a unique ZenScreen Duo OLED monitor (shown below) that can serve as a 14-inch display when space is tight, and unfold to a 21-inch two-panel array when you need more screen space. It’s comparatively light at about 1.5lbs.

Mainstream users can look at new Vu monitors aimed at reducing eye strain and keeping prices in check. They include 23.8-, 27- and ultrawide 34-inch versions, and you’ll find both an IPS panel (good for maintaining color at wide viewing angles) and a 100Hz refresh rate.

ASUS hasn’t outlined exact pricing and availability for its new monitor lineup. It’s safe to presume the Google TV monitor will be competitively priced, though, while the 8K screen is likely to carry a premium. We’d also expect the 27-inch 5K ProArt model to undercut Apple, although it’s not clear how it will stack up against Samsung’s ViewFinity S9.
