On March 7, 2025, Saphlux, Inc. officially unveiled the QD-COB Pro, a professional-level quantum dot Micro-LED direct-view display solution, at the Shenzhen International Smart Display & System Integration Exhibition (ISLE). QD-COB Pro is the first Micro-LED direct-view display product to achieve full-angle color accuracy with no color shift. Featuring premium quantum dot LED chips, exceptional color performance, and advanced packaging technology, this solution dedicates to professional design, CAVE immersive, virtual production, multimedia creation/education, high-end retail, and other applications demanding ultra-precise color accuracy and superior display performance.

The Saphlux QD-COB series utilizes the company's proprietary R-series red LED chips, enhanced by NPQD® quantum dot color conversion technology. This breakthrough overcomes the limitations of conventional COB displays, addressing the mismatch between red chips and blue-green chips in terms of emission pattern. The QD-COB series achieves ultra-wide viewing angles and full-angle high color accuracy. Moreover, its color and brightness remain unaffected by current and temperature variations. Since entering mass production in 2024, the QD-COB series has been deployed across thousands of square meters, receiving widespread recognition from customers.

Pushing Color Performance Boundaries to Set a New COB Benchmark
Building upon the foundation of QD-COB technology, QD-COB Pro delivers an even more advanced level of color performance. The product features third-generation R-series quantum dot chips with a wavelength fluctuation of less than ±0.2nm, achieving an ultra-low screen color difference (ΔE ≤ 2) for consistent color and brightness across the entire display. By integrating blue and green chips with highly matched light pattern, QD-COB Pro achieves an perfectly Lambertian tri-color emission, ensuring color point deviations (Cx, Cy) remain within ±0.003 across all viewing angles.
Additionally, the precise wavelength control enabled by quantum dot technology further optimizes red color point, allowing QD-COB Pro to achieve a ≥93% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. These advancements ensure that viewers experience highly accurate and true-to-life colors from any angle, setting a new benchmark for professional-level Micro-LED COB displays.

Brightness Reaches 1000 Nits, with High Refresh Rate and Low-Scan Driving
In terms of packaging technology, Saphlux, in collaboration with its partners, has significantly enhanced product performance. Xie Meng, Product Director at Saphlux, stated: "With this upgrade, we have increased the white brightness of the QD-COB display to 1000 nits, ensuring professional-grade color performance in all environments. Additionally, QD-COB Pro supports a 120Hz screen refresh rate, 3840Hz high-frequency refresh, and 30-scan driving, delivering smooth visuals and uniform brightness while maintaining low power consumption and extended lifespan."
Lighter and Thinner Cabinet for Easy Installation and Maintenance
In terms of installation, QD-COB Pro continues the high integration of the QD-COB series while further optimizing its structural design. The cabinet thickness has been reduced by approximately 10% compared to the previous generation, now measuring just 36mm, significantly enhancing the ease of system integration.
