Founded in 2021, SEEV specializes in the R&D and production of AR diffraction waveguide micro-nano optical devices. The company, incubated by the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, as well as the GBA National Institute for Nanotechnology Innovation, has mastered the full-chain core technology for the mass production of diffraction waveguides. SEEV leads in waveguide shipment within the industry, with its products being used in the series of devices by Even Realities and numerous other domestic and global brands. In the realm of higher-performance waveguides, SEEV is actively developing full-color SiC photolithography diffraction waveguides with a larger FOV. TrendForce specifically invited Yang Zhijie, Product Marketing Director of SEEV, to share the latest advancements in their waveguide products and technologies.

Industry Leader in Waveguide Shipment; Applications Seen among Multiple AR Glasses
SEEV stated that in terms of waveguide product shipments, the company is in an industry-leading position due to its advantages in capabilities of mass production and delivery, high-quality products, and self-developed core technologies. SEEV’s products have been successfully applied in multiple AR glasses, with the Even G1 being one of the representative products.

SEEV’s diffraction waveguide products weigh only 3 g, and have a thickness of approximately 0.7 mm, which helps the Even G1 achieve a lightweight and thin design, thus making it more appealing to consumers.
Aggressive Expansions to Deal with Increasing Demand from Downstream Customer
Excellent shipment performance is concatenated with active establishment of capacity. SEEV established a large-scale mass production line in 2023, and is actively constructing new lines right now. To meet the growing demand for diffraction waveguides from AR glasses manufacturers, SEEV stated that the company's annual delivery capacity will increase to 1-1.5 million sets by 2026, with each product set containing two waveguide plates, upon the completion of new production lines, SEEV’s production capacity includes both nanoimprint and photolithography processes. Currently, nanoimprint waveguides remain as the primary products shipped by SEEV, but the difference in the shipment ratio between the two methods will further narrow alongside the maturity of photolithography equipment and processes increases, as well as the reduction of material cost.
Aggressive Deployment in SiC Diffraction Waveguides to Facilitate Full Colorization for AR Glasses
For its strategy on high-end full-color AR products, SEEV stated that SiC-based waveguides can enhance the optical and display performance of end products due to their high refractive index and complex optical design. SEEV is currently promoting the research, development, and mass production of SiC diffraction waveguides at a rather active manner.

SEEV has launched the C45C, an SiC diffraction waveguide created using an photolithography process. This product can achieve single-layer full-color display with no rainbow effect. The C45C offers a FOV of 30°, high color fidelity, and a high light efficiency of 800 nits/lm. This product has already been mass produced, and adopted by Guangyu Gaowei’s Coray Air2.
Regarding the widely discussed issue of costs within the industry, SEEV stated that the current exorbitant price of SiC waveguides could be driven down by collaborative efforts across the supply chain, including measures such as using larger SiC wafers to improve area utilization, and increasing yield rate of processes.
Looking ahead, SEEV noted that the company's SiC waveguide products is expected to see a substantial increase in shipment, as the cost of SiC waveguides significantly decreases, and after applications and ecosystems of full-color AR glasses are established.
