Seoul Semiconductor Launches New 120lm/W SMD Type LED

Seoul Semiconductor announced on May 12 the launch of its 120lm/W high-efficiency, SMD type LED for general lighting.

The LCW100Z1 delivers over 120lm/W with an enhanced primary optic including enhanced heat transfer and the metal substrate, according to the company, while the pricing of the LCW100Z1 is comparable to similar-sized Chip LED’s that can tolerate only half of the current.

With dimensions of 3.5mm x 2.8mm x 1.6mm, the ultra-thin LCW100Z1 delivers up to 7.8lm (@0.06W) at the low current of 20mA, and 14.3lm 40mA with a viewing angle of 120 degrees in cool white. Moreover, the reliability of LCW100Z1 is also improved by the optimized thermal design yielding the efficiency needed for indoor and outdoor lighting, according to the company

The new LCW100Z1 product comes in three ranges of correlated color temperature’s (CCT); including pure white, warm white and natural white.

As it can immediately replace the existing Top View LED, the LCW100Z1 is expected to be widely adopted for tube-type fluorescent lamps and surface light source lamps, said the company. Samples of the LCW100Z1 were already used by many lighting appliance manufacturers.
