OSRAM Releases New 8 Watt Parathom Classic LED Lamp

OSRAM has recently introduced its new Parathom Classic LED lamp. With an average service life of 25,000 hours, the new product requires just 8 Watts to achieve the same light output as incandescent lamps, i.e. 80 percent less energy. All told, every lamp will save almost EUR 200 in electricity, as well as more than 400 kg of CO2 emissions, according to the company. The LED lamp will be commercially available as of August.

The Parathom Classic is compact, shatter-proof and resistant to vibrations. The lamps are totally free from mercury and the light contains no UV or infrared radiation. As they include an integrated electronic control system, the lamps must be disposed of as electronic scrap at the end of their service lives, for instance at communal recycling centres.

The Parathom Classic A 40 is part of OSRAM’s constantly growing range of LED lamps which also includes the Parathom Classic B 25 and a host of additional products. The Parathom reflector series is suitbale for effectively accentuating special features such as pictures, objects or plants, while the Parathom Deco series add a blaze of colour.
