Light: Sights, Sounds and Smartphones

This summer, Ledvance is launching its current range of mobile and functional luminaires, offering a huge number of smart functions and useful design.

Cuisine in the best light

Ledvance is adding new variants to its Osram LED Corner under-cabinet light system, which is primarily used underneath kitchen cabinets. A module with a USB socket and one with a Bluetooth speaker will be available from September alongside the standard LED luminaires. This provides an easy way of charging cell phones and tablets, for example, and listening to your favorite music while working in the kitchen.

The luminaires are available in two different lengths: just under 50cm or just under 80cm, providing 760 or 1,100 lumens of warm white light (3,000 Kelvin) respectively. Depending on the load, the USB socket can provide up to 2 amps of charge and the Bluetooth speaker can emit up to 10 watts of audio. The modules are completely inter-changeable and can provide a maximum output of 220 watts.

Osram Linear LED Turn is a particularly flexible under-cabinet light that is also popular in the kitchen. Thanks to its swiveling light, this luminaire can light up the working surface just where you need it. This model is available in lengths of just under 36cm or just under 56cm. Up to ten luminaires can be operated in series, ensuring that even the longest of countertops is placed in the best light.

The latest version of the Osram Submarine LED, an IP65 hoseproof luminaire, is also now available for laundry rooms, basements, garages and similar locations. This so-called “sealed for life” model with fixed light installation provides a particularly bright and homogenous light distribution in neutral white (4,000 Kelvin). It is also available in three different lengths: 60 cm (18 watts, 1,500 lumens), 120 cm (36 watts, 3,000 lumens) and 150 cm (48 watts, 4,000 lumens). Ledvance offers a three-year guarantee on these models, with a life span of up to 30,000 hours.

Little helpers for different needs

The fully revised range of mobile LED luminaires offers a great deal of versatility. All mobile models have integrated lights and the vast majority rely on power packs or batteries for power and therefore do not need to be connected to the mains. Ledvance is launching these Mobiles under the well-known brands Nightlux, Doorled and Lunetta. Besides modern design and a range of sensors, opening up a huge range of possible uses, one focal point of this new generation of Mobiles was on boosting efficiency.

With the exception of the plug-in nightlights, the Mobiles are either self-adhesive, or most of them can be attached to surfaces using small screws. The Osram Linear LED Mobile under-cabinet light is available as a battery-powered solution or with a power pack that can be charged up via USB. Both models have daylight and motion sensors. If, for example, the light is fitted to the inside of a cabinet, it will turn on whenever the cabinet is opened.

The IP54 splashproof members of the Nightlux family increase brightness and orientation for pathways or staircases. The battery-operated Osram Doorled also helps at doors and access points with its neutral white light (4,000 Kelvin).
