High-Brightness Devices Offer High Luminous Intensity to 33,500 mcd Typical and High Luminous Flux From 67.2 lm to 113.6 lm
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today expanded its Little Star® family of SMD power LEDs with a new series of 1 W cool, neutral, and warm white devices that utilize nitride phosphor for enhanced color stability over temperature. Combining extraordinarily high brightness with a compact package outline, the VLMW712xxx LEDs offer a low thermal resistance of 10 K/W and high luminous intensity for a wide range of applications.
Featuring an SMD power package with a compact 6.0 mm by 6.0 mm footprint and ultra-low profile of 1.5 mm, Vishay's new Little Star LEDs are among the most robust and light-efficient products on the market. The devices are designed for a high current drive of up to 350 mA, and offer extremely bright luminous intensity to 33,500 mcd typical and a typical luminous flux from 67.2 lm to 113.6 lm.
With their high brightness and low profile, VLMW712xxx series LEDs are suitable for conventional lighting and specialized applications. Typical end products will include traffic signal lights, architectural lighting, tube lights, indoor and outdoor video and advertising lighting, garden lights, and general lighting; and indicator and backlighting for audio equipment and household appliances such as microwaves.
The devices feature a 60° half-intensity angle and 120° viewing angle, and are compatible with IR-reflow solder processes. The VLMW712xxx series LEDs comply with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC, and withstand ESD up to 2 kV in accordance with JESD22-A114-B. Preconditioned according to JEDEC moisture sensitivity Level 2a standards, the Little Star package is lead (Pb)-free and RoHS-compliant.
Samples and production quantities of the new Little Star LEDs are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
