A China Times report has highlighted five major LED market trends in 2015:

In an industry first, TCL today introduced a 55-inch full-gamut 4K UHD TV with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price at one-third the cost of comparable OLED color televisions. All consumers of entertainment, whether for gaming, movies or other programming, can now enhance their viewing experience with deeper, sharper and more natural color at an accessible price.

Lighting-level LED price declined 5-9% in 1Q14 as distribution channel inventory levels gradually returned to norm and manufacturers stock-up before Chinese May Day holidays, according to LEDinside, a research subsidiary of TrendForce. Backlight LED price dipped around 3-7%. Price declined steadily during 1Q14 compared to previous slack seasons.   

As Ultra High Definition (UHD) 4K2K TV continues to be a trendsetter in the market, TV manufacturers are hoping to develop high color gamut TV. Using quantum dot (QD) technology, Sony has successfully released high color gamut TV in 2013.  TV brands that have achieved technological breakthroughs with Mn 4+ red phosphor powder are also planning to stimulate market purchases with NTSC 100% high color gamut TV.
