Yankon Lighting announced on December 29 that the company received subsidies from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for “Industrial upgrade to smart manufacturing and IoT+ mobile support security project—Secured chip improvement and application.”

Chinese sapphire manufacturer Roshow Technology reported plummeting net profits in 2014, according to a company announcement on Jan. 29, 2015.

Roshow Technology is under China’s Securities Regulatory Commission’s (CSRC) watchful eye for violating financial regulations again, according to a National Business Daily report. In April, the company’s former Board Secretary Chai Shen was arrested for suspected insider trading.

Roshow Technology (Roshow) reported a dramatic drop in profits earned in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 on June 29, 2014. 

Over the course of two years, three former high ranking officers from Chinese sapphire manufacturer Roshow Technology have been detained by Chinese authorities over insider trading, but the company has tried to downplay the incidents, according to a Chinese media China Times report. Some industry insiders also revealed company officers leaking sapphire investment info as a possible cause over the arrest.

Roshow Technology has fallen on hard times. Just one month after announcing a joint venture with Biel Crystal Manufactory to enter the sapphire substrate industry, the company cancelled a financing application in the aftermath of the company Board Secretary Chai Shen’s resign.
