Universal Display Corporation Acquires Adesis for Next-Gen Material Insight

Universal Display Corporation, enabling energy-efficient displays and lighting with its UniversalPHOLED® technology and materials, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Adesis, Inc. Adesis is a privately held contract research organization (CRO) with 43 employees specializing in organic and organometallic synthetic research, development, and commercialization. Adesis is a critical technology vendor to companies in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical, biomaterials, and catalyst industries, and has worked with Universal Display over the last few years to help advance and accelerate a number of Universal Display’s product offerings.

Lighting Research Center to Establish OLED Lighting Education and Application Program to Assist Manufacturers

The Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is expanding its research, education, and industry activities to organic light-emitting diodes, also known as OLEDs, by establishing the OLED Lighting Education and Application Program (OLED-LEAP) at the LRC. The goals of this new program are to help New York-based companies develop energy-efficient OLED lighting products and to help create market demand for lighting products that deliver value.
