Foreverlamp, a privately held company founded by Peter Shen, former president of Philips Lighting and Electronics Group, announced a new President and a slate of Executive officers. The changes are designed to allow the company’s leadership team to maximize time and attention to focus on seizing additional new growth opportunities and initiatives for LED lighting.  

Royal Philips announced the appointment of Sophie Bechu as Chief of Operations and Executive Vice President. Sophie Bechu, who joins Philips as of September 1, 2016 from International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), becomes a member of Philips’ Executive Committee and reports directly to Philips CEO Frans van Houten. Sophie Bechu succeeds Pasquale Abruzzese, who left Philips in May of this year for personal reasons.

In an effort to unify all of the offices and employees around the world, Acolyte LED announces the promotion of Scott Vontobel to Chief Operating Officer of the company effective January 1, 2016. Scott will now be in charge of all global operations of Acolyte Worldwide, United States, Acolyte Asia (China and Hong Kong), Dubai, Australia and New Zealand.

Rubicon Technology, a leading provider of sapphire substrates and products to the LED, semiconductor, and optical industries, announced the appointment of Hany Tamim as Chief Operating Officer. Tamim will have responsibility for all global manufacturing operations of Rubicon Technology. Tamim will be based in Malaysia and report to the CEO, Bill Weissman. The COO role is a consolidation of two senior management positions and will provide the Company with greater coordination of manufacturing operations at a lower cost.

Bringing years of experience working within the franchise community, Lechner is joining the company recently named on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies, its fourth consecutive year on the list.

Intelligent LED lighting company Lighting Science Group Corporation announced today that Wayne Nesbit has been appointed Chief Operations Officer. Nesbit brings his proven global experience in manufacturing operations to lead the company’s expansion of its domestic and international manufacturing capabilities.
