Acuity, Renaissance teams up to accelerate LED lighting commercialization

Recently, Atlanta-based Acuity Brands, a lighting and cleaning products company, said that it's entered into a strategic partnership with Herndon, Va.'s Renaissance Lighting to work on the commercialization of LED lighting. Under the deal, Renaissance is licensing its intellectual property, including its Constructive Occlusion optical system, to Acuity. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

Acuity inks LED pact with Lighting Science Group

Acuity Brands Lighting Inc. has forged a relationship with Dallas-based Lighting Science Group Corp. (OTC BB: LSCG) to develop and sell multiple light emitting diode (LED) lighting products. The products will be added to the Acuity Brands Inc. (NYSE: AYI) unit's portfolio, which includes Lithonia Lighting, Holophane, Hydrel and Gotham. The products will be for architectural, commercial, industrial, and public infrastructure use.
