GE announced it will no longer be manufacturing CFL lights in the U.S. market, and will be embracing LED lights in the future. ENERGY STAR’s raised energy efficiency standards, which has left CFLs in the dust, was cited as the main cause behind the shift. Other points mentioned in the company’s press release also hinted to its increased focus and strategy in smart lights.
