Samsung Raises AMOLED Prices to Cover Note 7 Losses

Samsung Electronics scrapped its flagship Galaxy Note 7 after a series of explosion incidents caused by faulty batteries that has dented its brand reputation. Industry insiders estimate the Korean electronic conglemorate might raise DRAM, AMOLED and other component prices to compensate losses incurred from the Note 7 incidents.

Did San’an Opto and HC Semitek Raise LED Chip Prices Too?

A report from Korean media ET News claimed Chinese manufacturers San’an Opto and HC Semitek joined Epistar’s lead in raising LED chip prices, which Korean media and others analyzed was a sign that plummeting LED chip prices finally rebounded. However, LEDinside found the Korean media report was not an exclusive interview with senior executives from San’an Opto, nor was it a large scale price adjustment.
