Xcel Energy has started to roll out a large scale LED streetlight upgrade in Minnesota to cut back energy consumption, reported Startribune.

A U.S. lighting installer Xcel Energy is tackling lighting complaints from residents in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with better designed LED streetlights, reported Leader Telegram.

Electric utilities company Xcel Energy will be installing LED streetlights across Wisconsin city Hudson in the U.S., according to a report by Star Observer.

Xcel Energy proposed a plan to replace about 100,000 company-owned streetlights with new energy efficient LED lighting. If approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, the plan would help communities reduce their streetlight energy use by about half.

It’s reported that Brooklyn Park and Xcel Energy Co. started an energy saving experiment this week by installing LED bulbs in nine streetlights.
