Citizen Develops World’s Thinnest Multi-Color LED with Reflector

Citizen Electronics Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture. President: Yoshihiro Gohta) has developed the CL-426 Series that is the world’s thinnest side-lighting type multi-color LED with a reflector.  Shipment of samples will start in July 2015.

Cree Expands High-Power Color LED Family with New XLamp® XP-C Color LEDs

Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE) expands its family of high-power color LEDs with the availability of XLamp® XP-C color LEDs in royal blue, blue, green, amber, red-orange and red. These new XP-C LEDs are 10-to-50 percent brighter than Cree’s previous midrange color LEDs. XLamp XP-C color LEDs are designed for 0.5-watt to 1-watt operation and can provide a cost-effective solution for many color lighting applications. In addition, XP-C LEDs are often compatible with existing optical designs, potentially reducing system design costs.

Luminus introduced multi-color LED modules for entertainment and architectural applications

Two new PhlatLight LED modules for entertainment and architectural uses are introduced by Luminus Devices Inc. in Billerica, USA. And the products has been planned to enter the markets from 2H09. Claimed as the first multi-color LEDs by the company with individually controllable color channels, the new modules based on PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice) LED large-chip architecture can produce over 2500 lumen of total light output from a optical area of merely 6mm x 8mm.
