Albemarle Builds Korea Facility for Electronic-grade Metal Organics Expanse

American chemical manufacturer Albemarle announced that its board of directors has authorized the expansion of its facility in Yeosu, Korea. The new facility is in the final stages of construction and will be dedicated to manufacturing Albemarle’s PureGrowth products, including high-purity trimethyl gallium (TMG), triethyl gallium (TEG) and trimethyl aluminum (TMA) used in metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) for processing semiconductor, LED and optoelectronic devices. American Albemarle Corporation has invested in Asia Pacific region of Yeosu, South Korea. It mainly invested on two sides,one investment is in in metallocene catalysts by leveraging its breakthrough ActivCat(TM) technology for polyolefin production,the other is to leverage its 50+ years of production experience in metal organics to supply High Purity Metal Organics (HPMOs) such as TMG to the High Brightness LED (HBLED) market.
