Genesis Photonics Inc. (GPI) second largest investor, Chicony, has acquired a 7% stake worth NT $350 million (US $11.14 million) of Everlight bonds, reported China Times.

Chicony’s subsidiary company Chicony Power’s application to OTC (over-the-counter) listing in the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) was reviewed and approved by the TWSE committee on August 15th. Chicony Power expects to be included in the listing starting 4Q. The company hopes to then join the ranks alongside Delta Electronics, Liteon, and Acbel Polytech to become the top four power supply companies.

Recently, Chicony Electronics’ wholly owned subsidiary, Chicony Power Technology had shipped LED lighting device to Clevo's China retail subsidiary Buynow, which adopted into its shopping malls as well as Clevo's partially invested Chicony department stores. It’s said that Chicony Power’s LED lighting products would emphasized the consumer and enterprise market in china. The company was expected to be list on Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) within the next 1-2 years.
