(HQ: Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenji Hamashima) announced that TNO opened an experimental EUV exposure and analysis facility (“EBL2”) on March 27, 2017. Through this facility, TNO provides EUV-related companies and institutions with the services to study and evaluate EUV optics as well as masks, pellicles, and sensors.

USHIO (TOKYO:6925) (President and CEO: Shiro Sugata), announced that its wholly owned subsidiary USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, INC., headquartered in Tokyo, has signed a demerger agreement with Oclaro Japan (President: Tadayuki Kanno), a wholly owned subsidiary of Oclaro (CEO: Greg Dougherty). Through this agreement, USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS will acquire the LED, red, violet and part of the infrared laser diode business from Oclaro Japan. The acquired activity is primarily located in Komoro, Japan and includes approximately 80 employees.

USHIO INC. has kicked off shipping the world's first 200-mm wafer full-field projection lithography tool "UX4-LEDs FFPL 200" for manufacturing High-Brightness LED chips.
Additionally, the company has completed development of the laser lift-off system "UX4-LEDs LLO 150" for volume manufacturing of vertical-structure LED chips.
These latest models of the UX4-LEDs are based on the same platform as USHIO's field-proven UX series, which has an installed base of more than 1,100 systems.
