Panasonic India launched its 100 thousand solar lantern project, a project to contribute 100,000 solar LED lights to people without electricity by 2018, the year which would mark the 100 th anniversary of the company. Reportedly, Panasonic India's manufacturing facility at Jhajjar in Haryana -- Panasonic Techno Park is set to operate in November 2012, bringing out washing machines, air-conditioners and welding equipment. According to Panasonic India President Daizo Ito,the company, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Panasonic, would invest $200 million over a five year period at the facility in the first phase.
