PhotonStar LED Group plc. has announced to sign its first licensing agreement and an associated design services supply agreement,  with a leading LED chip manufacturer, on its next generation chip design patents. The company has not disclosed the financial terms of the non-exclusive patent license agreement, but the agreement is expected to start to have an impact on PhotonStar’s revenues in 2014. PhotonStar LED, based in Romsey, Hampshire has announced a rolling one year exclusive supply agreement with a major UK house builder to supply LED lighting fixtures for all of the developer’s new homes. And the products will be supplied through UK wholesalers. In 2011, the house builder completed 1500 homes, and is forecasting continued growth. All new properties will be subject to new legislation requiring improvement in energy efficiency including lighting. PhotonStar LED has made progress in its revenue for the first half of 2012 up to 30 June, with a 50 per cent increase. According to the company, its revenue rose to £3.82m from £2.54m for the same period in 2011. Gross profit also increased by 62 per cent to £1.51m, when compared to the revenue of the first half of last year, which saw a total of £0.93m being made.
