Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are here. After countless rumors and speculations, Samsung on Wednesday officially unveiled its next-generation Galaxy S flagship models. Although most of the specs have been leaked, the launch of the S8 series was still highly anticipated as it is Samsung’s first major event since the withdrawal of Note 7s.

The next major iPhone release will certainly be one of the most anticipated events in the global consumer electronics market in the second half of 2017. TrendForce’s recent findings on the 10th anniversary iPhone release reveal that Apple’s latest refresh of the device series will include three new models, with one of them having significant hardware and design upgrades such as an AMOLED display.

Loyal Apple fans have probably started the countdown to Sept. 9, 2014, when the company will be unveiling the much anticipated iPhone 6 at Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, California, U.S. Staying true to its secretive nature, the company’s press conference invitation uses the catchy phrase “Wish we could say more.” With less than one week left on the clock, many in the industry believe Apple will be showcasing the iPhone 6, 12.9-inch iPads and iWatches at the event. 

As the industry enters LED lighting era, Taiwan needs to speed up its smart driver IC network (power control and ballast), which has interchangeable spec and electrical interface, said FOREPI Chairman Chien Fen-Ren at the 2013 Renewable Energy Summit. In the short term, the LED industry needs to prioritize solving electrical specification protocol and integration for drivers and luminary modules to resolve bottleneck situation.
