The cornerstones for the establishment of the lighting design profession were laid with the first convention in London – “a milestone” – and the successive event in Berlin – “a step ahead”! These first steps need to be reinforced and developed! Under the guidance and with inspiration gained from experienced lighting professionals, the new lighting design generation is ready to forge ahead and make their contributions in all fields of lighting design and research!
PLDC 2011 is organised by VIA Publishing, the publisher of the PLD magazine, in cooperation with PLDA and supported by the local coordinator APDI.
What PLDC offers

Why Madrid?
With six million inhabitants Greater Madrid is historically and culturally speaking one of Europe’s most significant metropolises. The Spanish capital itself is home to 3.3 million residents and is thus the second runner up of the biggest metropolises in the European Union, after London and Berlin! The commercial and financial centre of Spain, Madrid is of national and international importance for the (lighting) market and the gateway between Europe and Central and Southern America.
The recently established Asociación Profesional de Diseñadores de Iluminación, APDI will partner the event and contribute towards local coordination on site.
