London’s King Cross Station Illuminated with Vibrant LEDs

In the redevelopment of King's Cross Square, the station's new entrance, StudioFRACTAL were commissioned to create a new lighting scheme. The project is the first large scale public realm project in the UK to use only LED technology and Kemps Architectural Lighting were specified to provide both standard and bespoke LED luminaires for the project.

The result is visually stunning, and has made an incredible impact on the building and the way people use the space. Using the building's imposing stature as a backdrop, the design was based on the idea of maximising views of the recently revealed, now illuminated, grade 1 listed building.

King's Cross Square is lit up with LED lights. Pedestrians sit in front of the station.

The project is not only aesthetically impressive, it also maximises the reduced energy consumption and longer life span synonymous with LED lighting solutions.

Kemps were also specified to provide luminaires for the newly improved, low energy LED lighting for the famous clock at the top of the building's façade.
