Located on the 25th floor of the historic Henry Oliver Building, Elevation encompasses a casual yet elegant dining approach focused on comfort food. When it came time to choose lighting for the restaurant and bar, the hotel’s owners wanted to install energy-saving LEDs, but their interior design plans called for the vintage look of exposed incandescent bulbs. MaxLite LED Filament Lamps were the perfect solution.

The lamps replicate the nostalgic look and warmth of incandescent filament bulbs while providing 90% energy savings and a much longer lifetime of 15,000 hours. Recognized in the 2015 Lighting for Tomorrow competition, the lamps are designed with linear LED filaments that resemble their incandescent counterparts and deliver light in a super warm, 2200K color temperature.

A variety of decorative shapes, including globe, ST18, T14 and candelabra, were suspended in clusters from the ceiling to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that complemented the restaurant menu and the rich history of the building. Local contractor Ferry Electric Company performed the installation.

By installing LED filament lamps instead of incandescent, Embassy Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh Downtown is achieving the desired aesthetic at 90% energy savings.
