RiTdisplay aims to be world’s No.1 supplier of PMOLED

Recently, RiTdisplay Corp., a reinvested company of Taiwan’s larges-sized disc maker RiTek Corp., has received orders for 35 million units of passive matrix organic light emitting diodes (PMOLEDs), with 30 million units to be delivered this year, making it the world’s No. 1 supplier of this product presently.

Now, RiTdisplay is able to turn out PMOLEDs boasting the maximum diameter size of 1.98 inches, with sales to globally leading LED lighting brands contributing over 70% to the total. In order to maximize its profits, RiTdisplay has applied touch ICs sourced from Italian STMicroelectronics and its OLED technology onto production of capacitive touch panels, and succeeded in working out 1.1-, 1.3-inch, and 3.1-inch models.

According to related analysis, thin-film transistor (TFT) has widely replaced PMOLEDs due mainly to its cheaper prices in the global market in recent years, PMOLED makers have been forced to venture into production and development of active metric organic light emitting diode (AMOLED), so as to reap more profits to prop up their waning business.
