Bulbrite Receives SSL Quality Advocates' Lighting Facts Labels for Full Line of LED MR-16s and Dimmable LED PARs

Bulbrite, a manufacturer and supplier of innovative, energy-efficient light source solutions, has received SSL Quality Advocates' Lighting Facts Labels for its full line of LED MR-16s, LED R30, and Dimmable LED PAR30 and PAR38, signifying their test completion by a government approved lab.

Nine Bulbrite SKUs were approved in total. These products include:  a LED MR-16 1-watt (Warm White and Daylight), LED MR-16 3-watt (Warm White and Daylight), LED MR-16 GU-10 (Warm White and Daylight), LED 18W R30, Dimmable LED 14W PAR-30, and a Dimmable LED 24W PAR-38.

The Lighting Facts Label helps accelerate the adoption of LED technology by providing factual light source performance information to distributors, specifiers and consumers/users.  This data includes:

1)  Lumens-A measurement of light output.  The higher the number, the more light is emitted.
2)  Watts-Measures energy required to light the product.  The lower the wattage, the less energy used.
3)  Lumens per Watt/Efficacy-Measures efficiency. The higher the number, the more efficient the product.
4)  CRI Color Rendering Index-Measure color accuracy.  Color rendition is the effect of the lamp's light spectrum on the color appearance of objects.
5) Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)-Measures light color.  Cool colors have higher Kelvin temperatures (3600-5500k); Warm colors have lower color temperatures (2700-3500K).
6)  IESNA LM-79-2008-Industry standardized test procedure that measures and compares performance qualities of LED luminaires and integral lamps.

About SSL Quality Advocates
Established by the US Department of Energy (DOE) in January 2009, SSL (Solid State Lighting) Quality Advocates is a voluntary pledge program ensuring that LED lighting is represented accurately in the market.  SSL Quality Advocates pledge to use Lighting Facts labels to document product performance based on industry standard LM-79 testings, and guard against exaggerated claims while ensuring a satisfactory experience for lighting buyers.

The DOE and the Next Generation Lighting Industry Alliance (NGLIA) jointly developed SSL Quality Advocates program and the Lighting Facts Label.   This program is designed to serve as a foundation for successful commercialization of solid-state lighting, which has the potential to reduce Lighting Energy Usage in the U.S. by 33 Percent.  LED products approved by SSL Quality Advocates are listed on www.lightingfacts.com.
