Ursinus Replacing Lighting Through Pa. Energy Efficiency Grant

The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority Thursday announced a grant of $120,645 to Ursinus College for replacement of parking lot and walkway lighting.

The Collegeville, Montgomery County, school will replace metal halide and high-pressure sodium bulbs with LED lights. The move is expected to save the college $20,000 a year in electricity costs and reduce carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions produced in energy generation, the PEDA said.

Ursinus will match the grant with $41,514 in spending.

Statewide, PEDA announced $3.7 million in funding for 12 clean energy projects.
