Hubbell Lighting’s Prescolite Honored as NAED’s tED Magazine “Best of the Best” Awards

Hubbell Lighting’s division Prescolite, was honored for its College Support Program at the National Association of Electrical Distributors’ (NAED) “Best of the Best” Awards sponsored by the association’s publication, The Electrical Distributor (tED) magazine.

Prescolite took top supplier honors in the category of Public Relations/Community Outreach.

To establish a connection with college students early in their careers, Prescolite reached out to professors at six of the country’s top-ranked architecture and engineering programs. Through the collaboration, the company learned there was an interest – among professors and students – to learn about the benefits of LED lighting technology, as well as the challenges in designing with solid-state lighting.

To support the colleges’ curriculum, Prescolite offered Fundamentals of LED educational materials – and even product selection guides for advanced classes at the selected universities.

Additionally, the company provided 50 LED downlighting products to Studio 804, a group of graduate students at the University of Kansas’ School of Architecture. The fixtures were used in the new on-campus Center for Design Research, which supports the architecture program.
