Everlight Introduces Smallest RGB LED Package Product

Taiwanese LED package manufacturer Everlight announced the launch of a brand new RGB LED package product. The full color 1-035 SMB package product is the world's smallest at only 0.5mm x 0.5mm (0505) in size and can be applied in high resolution LED TVs. The product has already broken into Chinese display manufacturer Leyard’s supply chain. With display resolutions increasing, the display market is growing as the market shifts from outdoor to indoor displays.

In 2010, Everlight introduced small sized technology into the once floundering outdoor display market by launching their 1010 RGB package. The company in 2012 launched the 0808 and 0505 in 2013. The display markets move towards indoor displays helped to lessen the gap in consumer perspective and increase small sized high resolution display demands for manufacturers.

Aside from the China indoor display market currently being a major market for manufacturers to break into, gradual introduction of small sized products into indoor displays by Chinese display manufacturers is expected to see a large increase in demand due to the 2020 Olympics hosted by Japan. Taiwanese manufacturers are optimistic about the future growth of the display market. Aside from Everlight, upstream chip manufacturer Genesis has also introduced flip chip technology into RGB products in hopes to seize opportunities brought on by the Olympics. Everlight currently has display clients from Europe, North America, and China. The company has also already broken into Chinese display manufacturer Leyard’s supply chain.
