Everlight Responds to Nichia’s Amendment Complaint

In regards to Nichia’s recent press release on November 27th about the amendment complaint concerning the U.S. patent litigation, Everlight stands by its choice to re-file the intellectual property right lawsuit and defends the rights of its customers and stockholders. Nichia began patent infringement lawsuits against Everlight in 2006. In 2011, Everlight won a victory over Nichia for the patent administrative litigation in the Taiwan Supreme Administrative Court. Everlight has already filed lawsuits against Nichia in the U.S., Germany, Japan, and China

Everlight consistently takes intellectual property rights seriously and currently has over 1,600 patents all of which secure customer rights. In regards to Nichia’s complaint concerning the U.S. patent litigation, Everlight believes it is pointless. Since the dispute has already entered the judicial process, the company has no further comments.
