Companies with improvements included Epistar, Optotech, Genesis Photonics, Epileds, Tyntek and others. Genesis Photonics and Tyntek made a complete turnaround in gross profit for the quarter. Epistar and Optotech both showed growth for three consecutive quarters, while Epileds maintained a positive performance for three quarters. However, Forepi, Tekcore, and Arima Optoelectronics still suffered from gross losses.

Companies that maintained profits were LED lighting manufacturer Epileds, who maintained a positive performance for three quarters, and Optotech, who showed growth for three quarters through support of shareholder Nichia. EPS for the two companies reached NT $0.18 and NT $0.22 respectively. Epistar 3Q gross profit rose 16.09 percent but research fees had grown. In addition to non-business recognized loss on valuation of financial liability of NT $300 million, 3Q had a surprising turn from profit to loss with single quarter loss in stock price of NT $0.09. Genesis Photonics and Tyntek both showed positive 3Q gross profit performance but still suffered quarterly losses due to fees.
