Epistar and GPI November Revenue Rebounds

LED manufacturers have consecutively released their November financial reports. Taiwanese LED chip manufacturer Epistar revenue has been driven by increased shipment demands for  AlInGaP and backlight products. The company’s revenue grew at monthly rate of 4.68 percent in November revenue to NT $2.08 billion (US $70 million), returning to the critical point of NT $ 2 billion. LED chip manufacturer Genesis Photonics Inc. (GPI) also showed good revenue performance in November reaching NT $387 million, a monthly growth of 3.25 percent mainly benefitting from flip chip products.


Epistar November revenue reached historical heights in the typically low 4Q13 season, after soaring 39.84 percent from the same period. Main driver for the company’s November revenue was an increase in AlInGaP orders. Backlight orders also increased in response to Chinese Lunar New Year LED TV stock up . 


GPI revenue benefited from flip chip products in November with a yearly growth of 17.82 percent. Although,4Q is typically a slack season for the LED industry, the company had a positive outlook as gross profit margin increased from 3Q13 due to product portfolio improvements in 4Q. Accumulated revenue from Jan.-Nov. reached NT $3.62 billion, yearly increase of 7.27 percent.
