(GPI) has been developing flip chip LEDs for a long time, since 2015 the company released its flip chip integrated high power light source solution last year at Taipei AMPA 2015, which received positive feedback from the industry. In 2016, the company launched an innovative CSP components at LIGHTING JAPAN 2016 that are thinner with higher lumen per watt, enabling ultra- high efficacy of (>200 lm/W), aiming for supplying portable electronics backlights and automotive light source market (TS16949 certified) that requires high reliability.

Taiwanese LED chip manufacturer Genesis Photonics Inc (GPI) board meeting on January 21st decided to initiate capital increase, publishing 40 million shares at NT $14.5 each (US $.48) and raised resource of NT $580 million (US $19.2 million). According to a report released by the company, the increase in capital is for use in repaying bank loans. Shareholders can begin subscribing on March 11th.

Taiwan Genesis Photonics has scheduled to pour US$35 million in 2012 in China to build Kunshan plant in southern China. The new plant is a joint venture between Genesis and the Kunshan municipal government. Construction began in September 2010 with a total investment of around US$200 million. Recently, LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker Genesis Photonics has began construction for its joint venture with the Kunshan city government in China.
The first stage engineering of the joint venture will host 50 sets of MOCVD machines. In the new factory, Genesis has held 51% stake, and Kunshan city government has held the other stake.
The new factory will start production in Q3 of 2011 and will be the largest LED chip and lighting manufacturing base in China.

AIXTRON AG announced a new order for six new generation CRIUS II 55x2-inch configuration deposition systems from existing customer Genesis Photonics Inc. The Taiwan based company placed the order during the second quarter of 2010. After delivery of the systems between the fourth quarter 2010 and the second quarter 2011, they will be used for gallium nitride (GaN) green and blue LED production. In Taiwan, several significant LED lighting projects have launched by governments. The Taichung City government installed 5,000 streetlights by the end of October, the largest number of all. The Bureau of Energy under the Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced it will budget NT$150 million (US$4.5 million at US$1:NT$33) in 2009 to finance local governments on the island to erect a total number of 12,500 LED streetlights islandwide.
