Harvatek Turns Loss to Profit in 2013

Taiwanese package manufacturer Harvatek operational performance strengthened during the second half of 2013. The company hopes profit gain in 3Q13 will carry on into 4Q13, said Billy Wang, Chairman of Harvatek. The company hopes to maintain its profitable performance in 4Q13 , and aims to turnover previous losses to make 2013 a profitable year.

During a press conference at the Taiwan International Lighting Show and SEMICON Taiwan, Wang pointed out that the cooperation between these two conferences shows Taiwan lighting industry’s close relationship. Market value for LED lighting will surpass backlight for the first time in 2014.


The company operations in the second half of 2013 gradually improved following the maturing of LED lighting applications. The company made a turnaround after seven straight quarters of loss since 2011, with EPS for 3Q of NT $0.25. The company hopes profit seen in 3Q will continue into 4Q, and turn loss into profit for the entire 2013 fiscal year, said Wang.


Operation performance in 2014 is anticipated to be better than 2013, said Wang. This year the company developed new products especially in the special applications area such as stage lighting and displays, as well as automotive lighting. The company has received automotive lighting application orders in recent quarters, and plans to start shipment in first half  of 2014, revealed Wang.
