Ledlink to Profit from Shift in LED Application Trends

Ledlink has received orders from U.S. luminary manufacturer Acuity Brands and German luminary manufacturer Zumtobel are estimated to lead to a growth of 30 percent next year, according to the company’s financial report released on the 12th.

Ledlink has already received large orders from a U.S. luminaire manufacturer which made up 4 percent of the company’s revenue despite having only begun cooperating with U.S. luminaire manufacturers in early 2013. Orders also continue to flow in from European luminary manufacturers.
Orders from large European and U.S. manufactures next year are anticipated to boost LED lighting business growth for Everlight, Epistar, Lextar, and Ledlink.

The trend for LED application has shifted from TV backlight to lighting which has a vastly different industrial environment. The global TV market consists of a small number of large brand named manufacturers which allows penetration rate to reach 100 percent in a short time frame. Lighting on the other hand has moderate but long lasting penetration rate, due to each regional market having its own leading manufacturer.

The dispersed LED lighting market is rewriting market games rules with demand surpassing LED backlight for the first time during the beginning of 2014, according to a recent report by J.P. Morgan. LED manufacturers are hoping to overcome overt concentration of LED backlight clients which led to a limited bargaining space. With the arrival of a new era in LED lighting, manufacturers hope to enjoy more stable gross profit performance and larger space for price negotiations.
