Osram to Light up Frankfurt's Financial District with More than 12,000 Indoor Luminaires

Coinciding with its stock market debut, Osram will light up the financial district of Frankfurt with the new TaunusTurm high-rise tower consisting of more than 12,000 indoor luminaires. Osram is offering a variety of LED luminaries on behalf of the construction company Ed. Züblin AG featuring an absolute homogeneous light and very flat construction designs. They are also more energy-efficient compared to models with classic fluorescent light sources. The luminaries are now being installed successively.

The office tower in the height of 170 meters is currently being built in Frankfurt, and when completed, will have around 60,000 square meters of office space distributed across 40 storeys. The first rooms are going to be occupied later this year. The developers of the complex are Tishman Speyer and Commerz Real, a unit of Commerzbank AG. Züblin holds responsibility for the construction as the general contractor.

Christian Schraft, head of the Luminaires (LUM) business unit at Osram, said that like Osram, Tishman Speyer puts a special emphasis on sustainability as well as on design, and Osram's LED luminaries will highly contribute to this and also provide pleasant light at the same time.

Osram's management will visit the Frankfurt stock exchange on July 8 when Osram planned to debut its stock market. The city is also a special location for the lighting industry as it is hosting the largest lighting fair worldwide, Light+Building, every two years. Stunning Osram technology can also be seen at the well-known exterior facade of the ESPRIT flagship store at Frankfurt's shopping boulevard Zeil.
